National Minority Chambers of Commerce Call on Congress for Funding and Resources for Minority-Owned Businesses

On July 17, 2020, National ACE partnered with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) and the U.S. Black Chamber, Inc. to express our policy requests for the next phase of stimulus funding for minority-owned businesses. Together these three chambers represent the interests of more than 9.3 million minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs) and a network of more than 450 minority focused nonprofit organizations, including minority chamber of commerce affiliates, across the United States. To protect these MBE’s we urged legislators to:

1) Establish a minority equity fund of $10 billion in order to to fund Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs)

2) Provide funding for technical assistance and business resiliency through the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)

3) Expansion of the CARES Act to fund grant programs for resource and technical assistance support in the areas of business revitalization, new business technologies, expanded customer service, supplier diversity trainings and matchmaking, financial services, and lending to national organizations with business memberships.
