National ACE Applauds Bipartisan House Efforts to Expand Paid Family Medical Leave for AAPI Communities and Businesses
The National Asian Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE) applauds the Bipartisan House Working Group on Paid Leave upon their introduction of two discussion drafts that build on their legislative framework on paid family medical leave.
Access to paid leave benefits, and the ability of business owners to offer them, is critical for the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, who are more likely to live in multigenerational homes and care for older family members. Through solutions like a competitive grant program that incentivizes more states to offer paid family medical programs and the Interstate Paid Leave Action Network (I-PLAN) that will help harmonize existing paid leave programs across states, we can ensure that more business owners and workers have access to these key benefits.
We commend the bipartisan efforts of the Working Group and look forward to continuing to support their efforts towards expanding paid leave access for business owners and workers across the U.S.
