National ACE Statement on the House Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022

The National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE) applauds the House passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This bill is an important first step in addressing the rising costs of healthcare services, increasing domestic clean energy production, and decreasing the deficit.

“Small businesses have struggled to afford healthcare for far too long, and lack of access to affordable health care amongst AAPI small business owners is a challenge we hear about widely and frequently,” National ACE President and CEO, Chiling Tong, said upon the House vote. “This is also a personal issue for AAPI entrepreneurs who are closely feeling the impacts of inflation on their small businesses.”

With the economy still recovering from the pandemic, inflation, and unpredictable supply chain disruptions, the IRA meets the moment and will bring relief to AAPI entrepreneurs navigating the post-Covid economy. National ACE looks forward to the IRA being signed into law by the President and stands ready to work with Congress to ensure that AAPIs have equitable access to all the benefits the bill has to offer.
