Happy Women’s History Month
The National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE) is excited to honor the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women business owners who strengthen our economy and serve as an inspiration to the entire AAPI community. 30% of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander businesses and 28% of Asian American businesses are owned by AAPI women who create tens of thousands of jobs and fuel economic growth. AAPI women faced an onslaught of challenges throughout the pandemic, including the highest rates on long term unemployment, missed relief opportunities, and an unprecedented level of harmful rhetoric and violence targeted at them. We recently recognized the two year anniversary of the devastating Atlanta Spa Shooting, which resulted in the tragic loss of 8 women of Asian descent.
National ACE President and CEO Chiling Tong joined leaders of the women’s business community at the White House for the annual Women’s Business Summit, where members of the Biden-Harris Administration announced additional and ongoing investments in women-owned businesses. We are encouraged by the Administration's ongoing efforts to support the growth of women owned businesses and look forward to ensuring AAPI women entrepreneurs have access to these resources and opportunities.
