National ACE Calls on Congress to Create Equity-Based Legislation to Safeguard Our Community

On May 15, 2020, National ACE, as a founding member of the Page 30 Coalition, joined together with 38 other leading small business organizations to advocate for underserved communities with recommendations for congressional leaders as they consider future COVID-19 response legislation. To ensure the prioritization of our business community is realized, we collectively urged legislators to create equity-based legislation that will provide safeguards through 1) the elimination of “first come, first serve” in PPP; 2) extension of the PPP through December 31, 2020; 3) extension of the PPP loan coverage period; 4) additional funding only for firms with 10 or fewer employees; 5) dedication of additional resources to Page 30 communities; and 6) the implementation of a CARES Act transparency mechanism.
