Michelle Mi is Vice President of Emerging Markets & Business Development, Walmart Global Sourcing. Michelle and her team support a wide range of new sourcing initiatives, including Cross Border Trade, India Flipkart eCommerce Sourcing and the Wholesale business. These initiatives play a key role in Walmart Global Sourcing transformation and contribute to and reinforce Walmart’s “Every Day Low Cost, Every Day
Low Price” approach, which helps customers to “Save Money. Live Better”. Michelle is a 20-year veteran with extensive experience in retail, finance, strategy, supply chain and sourcing. She most recently served as Vice President, Indirect Spend Management. Before that, she was the Sr. Director of Sam’s Finance and was responsible for supporting Sam’s Leadership Council in segment strategies, board meetings, financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Previously, she served as Sr. Director of U.S. Operations Finance where she led a team to analyze, develop, and execute key store initiatives and financial plans for Store Operations, Innovations, HR, and Asset Protection. Michelle joined Walmart Logistics in 2004.
Prior to Walmart, Michelle held a number of roles with J. B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc., a fortune 500 company that provides transportation services and supply chain solutions throughout the continental United States. Michelle earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of International Business and Finance in Beijing China, and her Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
