Small and mid-sized employers are the backbone of the American economy. More than half of the nation’s 134 million employees work for firms with fewer than 100 employees. While small employers want to compete in the war for talent with larger firms and offer robust compensation and benefits packages, they naturally experience resource and financial constraints. Additionally, research shows that 58% of employees experience financial stress at work, negatively impacting productivity, driving high attrition and impeding the quality of work. Relief exists for both small employers and employees to build long-term financial security and supplement benefits without straining their offers.
