National ACE Addresses the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce’s 9th Annual AAPI Business Legislative Summit
On February 22, National ACE was invited to attend and speak at Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce’s 9th Annual AAPI Business Legislative Summit in Richmond, VA. Other speakers included Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax, as well as several members of the Virginia House of Delegates and U.S. Members of Congress. Discussions included issues on higher education reform, boosting Virginia’s employment and economy, and assistance for small minority businesses.
Delegate Sam Rasoul provided meaningful insight to constituents on how to effectively lobby their legislators. Tracey Jeter from the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) discussed the opportunities her office provides in business development outreach, procurement, and certification programs. SBSD provides access to capital, grants, and loan opportunities while doing advocacy work all year round.
National ACE President and CEO, Chiling Tong, provided remarks on National ACE’s mission and and our top policy priorities. This was a great opportunity to meet with fellow legislators and have conversations about the issues that impact small businesses the most.
