Christopher K. Law is national vice president of Asian Initiatives at UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) company.

Law joined Asian Initiatives in 1994, overseeing the day-to-day operations including sales and marketing, customer service, and community relations. Asian Initiatives offers the Asian-American community easy access to affordable, quality health care by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Offering its services first in the Chinese community, Asian Initiatives has now expanded into serving the Korean, Vietnamese and South Asian communities.

Prior to joining Asian Initiatives, Law spent more than a decade with the American Express Company, where he held a number of managerial positions, including vice president of finance re-engineering and vice president of business analysis.

Law received his company’s first Leadership Excellence Award in 2002 for effectively leading and motivating his team to serve their customers in New York City during and after the Sept. 11 tragedy. In 2006, Law was honored as one of the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” by the Asian American Business Development Council. He also received the “Outstanding Corporate Achievement Award” by the New Jersey Chinese American Chamber of Commerce in 2009. In 2010, Law received Asian Enterprise magazine’s “Small Business Advocate of the Year Award.” In 2013, he was presented the “Partnerships Builder Award” by Chinatown Manpower Project (CMP). Law received the “Community Service Award” by the New Jersey Korean American Chamber of Commerce in 2016.

Law founded the Summer Internship Program in metro New York, a program designed to offer meaningful work experience and community service opportunities to Asian high school students. He serves on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations, including the Board of Advisors for American Cancer Society’s Asian Initiatives in New Jersey, the Board of Trustees for Chinese Christian Herald Crusades, the Board of Directors for the Northeast Chapter of Asian American Insurance & Financial Professional Association, and the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Chinese American Chamber of Commerce. Law also frequently speaks at multicultural marketing conferences and forums around the country.

Law was born and raised in Hong Kong. He received two Bachelor of Science degrees – computer science and electrical engineering – from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also received his Master of Science degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Law currently resides in New Jersey with his wife.
